New partnership between the Seed Fund and ASRC Music Group

The Seed foundation will partner with the ASRC Music Group to provide up to $8,000 in masterclasses and new music equipment.

The Seed believes that genuine musical expression is vital to the health of any culture and they are excited by the breadth of new talent this country inherits via the introduction of these new artists. This project facilitates music as social connection, assisting asylum seekers to find their voices as they engage in the process of establishing themselves in their new community.

An ASRC band member describes why the music group brings him joy “music is a universal language. It lets me communicate, share my stories, and the good times, with all Australians”.

We are very excited by this new partnership for the ASRC and for the Music Group, who have already performed in several large events including at Federation Square as part of Refugee Week (as seen pictured above).
