The ASRC Media Kit
Why we exist, our campaigns, our positions
The ASRC offers to the media interviews, editorials and articles for print, radio, TV and social media, up to date facts and figures relating to the asylum seeker debate, tours of ASRC for background information, testimonials from asylum seekers, myth Busters. With only 18 full time and 14 part time paid staff, the majority of our work is conducted by a dedicated team of over 600 volunteers, delivering 23 specialised direct programs and critical services to over 1,000 asylum seekers at any one time. The ASRC is the only one-stop shop for asylum seekers anywhere in Australia. The ASRC is a place of last resort for the most vulnerable and at-risk asylum seekers. We strive for policy and law reform, and for public awareness to achieve justice for asylum seekers and are one of the few truly independent human rights organizations in Australia.
