Fundraising
The ASRC relies on the community for crucial financial support in order to provide Aid, Empowerment and Justice services to asylum seekers. These funds contribute to direct support for asylum seekers and the provision of food, medicine and other basic necessities. Through individual giving, appeals, events and other fundraising activities, individual supporters make a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and ensure that the ASRC remains an independent and vocal advocate for social change.
What We Do
Each year the ASRC needs to raise over $1.5 million to provide essential Aid, Empowerment and Justice for asylum seekers. Community financial support is crucial in ensuring we can continue to meet this target and enables us to remain independent in advocating for social change and a fairer system for asylum seekers.
The ASRC has a well established network of regular supporters, who give ongoing monthly donations, thereby providing invaluable financial support and security for the ASRC to plan for the future and ensure continuity of services. In addition to this, we run three major appeals a year, at Christmas, Easter and during winter.
Throughout the year, the ASRC also hosts a range of both large and small community events, which aim to raise money for services as well as the profile of the ASRC and awareness of asylum seeker issues.
Your support is crucial to ensuring that asylum seekers are provided with essential services and an opportunity to fully participate in society. To make a donation or become a regular supporter, please visit the Donate Now section.

Volunteer - Georgia
"I love volunteering in Fundraising because it's really fun coming up with new ideas to raise funds for the ASRC. More importantly, however, it's really inspiring to see people going out of their way to make a contribution to help improve the quality of life of others."
Kate - Regular Donor
"As someone who works in the community sector, I have seen first hand the excellent work that the ASRC does, With additional support they would be able to do much more! One of the things that I love most about the ASRC is their open arms approach to supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Organisations like the ASRC effectively run on the smell of an oily rag and rely on the support of volunteers - they make a dollar go a long way. The more people that sign up to be regular donors, the better!"
